- Artistic Director
- Corvallis Repertory Singers was founded by Dr. Steven M. Zielke, Director
of Choral Studies at OSU and recent President of the Oregon Music
Educators' Association. He has a doctoral and master's degree in
choral conducting from Florida State University, where he studied
with Andre Thomas and Rodney Eichenberger and held a fellowship
funded through the efforts of the late Robert Shaw.
Associate Conductor
- Emily Thielen Mercado, with BA and MAT from OSU, directs the choirs at Crescent Valley High School and at Cheldelin Middle School. Emily has considerable interest and experience in musical theatre.
- The Singers
- A concert may involve 24 to 45 singers, mostly residents of
Corvallis, Albany, and Lebanon, with some travelling from Salem and
Eugene to rehearse. By day they are librarians, school and church
choir directors, scientists, medical professionals, small business
owners, teachers, and computer professionals. Performances are
prepared with relatively few rehearsals. With years of musical
experience and many trained voices in the ensemble, soloists are
often drawn from the choir.
- Contributions
- Corvallis Repertory Singers is an independent non-profit with 501(c)3
tax-exempt status. Contributions are fully deductible in Federal and
State tax filings.
-
Contributions made out to Corvallis Repertory Singers may be sent to 3910 NW Clarence Circle, Corvallis OR 97330.
Your contribution also yields a 100% credit on Oregon taxes for a matching donation to the Oregon Cultural Trust. See details at www.culturaltrust.org. Match the total of all this year's contributions to Oregon cultural non-profits — up to $500 for an individual, $1000 for a couple filing jointly, $2500 for a business. To qualify for the credit on this year's taxes, the gift to the Trust must be made before December 31.
It isn't necessary to itemize to receive the credit. But itemizers fare best of all. Because the gift to the Trust is a Federal deduction as well as a full credit with the State, when their taxes are finished they will actually have received back more than they gave to the Trust!
